When I was young my mom told me to always comb my hair. You have to look proper!! I always had braids, curls or ponytails. Just once I was allowed to let my hair down. (Hmm that is hard to do when you have 'nappy hair' 'cause it never 'falls' down. It stays up!) The schoolphotographer came and took the picture! Half of my hair was on it, because it was so big!
